Why has David Laws not been prosecuted for apparently committing the same crime as Jim Devine jailed today?

Jim Devine ex-MP has today been jailed for fiddling his parliamentary expenses. I have no argument with this he got what he deserved for betraying public trust however what I don't understand is why no prosecution has been brought against David Laws MP who it appears illegally and knowingly claimed around �40,000 in rent paid to his partner. Could it be that Laws is a "golden boy" who Cameron and Clegg want to get back into their government? Devine fiddled something like �9,000 I believe substantially less than the amount Laws appears to have falsely claimed and although Laws has paid some of the money back that does not absolve him in law from being prosecuted if he has in fact committed a crime. Laws is a multi-millionaire by the way.

Why do americans assume their law which is actually state by state, is right all the times?

Revenge against the married woman who slept with my husband?

Okay my situation is a bit different from any of the others that I've read on here so I thought I'd start a new discussion and see if anyone has any advice because I could truly use some. First of all let me say that I am NOT taking ANY of the responsibility for this away from my husband. I immediately filed for divorce & we are going thru the court system right now. However I have alot of anger towards the married woman who slept with my husband. Again, I know that he was just as wrong as she was and I am NOT trying to excuse his behavior however after getting to know my husband in a semi-professional setting he opened up and told her that he was in treatment for sex addiction and told her about the steps he was taking and the process that he was going through to break free from this addiction. Within a very short period of time she had him over to her home to do some professional contracting work for her & her husband. While he was looking over the work to be done, she went and changed into a robe with nothing underneath & began rubbing his shoulders, etc. Again, I AM NOT excusing my husbands behavior because he could have easily told her no & could have easily removed himself from the situation and he did neither of these things and instead had sex with her. They continued this for awhile until she started demanding that he leave me & our children & threatened to expose him by telling me what he had been doing. She even told him that she had driven by our house to see if I was home one day. This prompted him to tell me everything. I immediately threw him out & filed for divorce. And then I called her to let her know that he had told me everything and that she needed to leave him alone. She proceeded to try to tell me about all of the things they had done sexually and I just hung up the phone on her. She continued to call me that day. As I have stated, I am in NO WAY trying to absolve my husband of his actions, but I feel as if she used the situation and the knowledge that he had shared with her & her husband to seduce him. Of course he could have said no & he didn't and that was his fault & he is the one that is paying for it. But she actually had the nerve to tell me that I just didn't understand because her husband is so much older than her and she just had needs just like my husband and they were able to help each other. She didn't help him, she has (they both have) destroyed his life, literally. He has lost his home, his children, and is very close to losing the business we have spent more than a decade building. He is remorseful to the point of contemplating suicide and he is now seeing another therapist for that. I have some sympathy for my husband because I see how very bad he feels for what he has done to our marriage and our family and because I know how badly he has struggled with his addiction. Both of our extended families have been devastated by this also. However, I feel nothing but anger and vengefulness towards this "other woman'". She was in no way remorseful. She not only knew my husband was married she threatened to expose him if he tried to stop seeing her. At first I didn't believe anything that my husband said in regards to her & it was only when I actually called her myself and listened to the things she said that I realized that he wasn't lying about the threats she made. She actually tried to justify her actions by saying that her and my husband were just alike and that I just didn't understand. This has completely devastated our family & when I spoke to her I simply wanted her to understand that there was a true family involved, with young children and that she could have chosen someone else if that was her needs & she didn't have to intentionally go after someone who she knew would be easy for her. I guess I just wanted her to think about her actions for the next time she did this with someone else's husband. Instead she just said that she wasn't getting what she needed from her husband and that her & my husband were able to together. To see the effects this has had on my family & even my soon to be ex-husband is so devastating. His therapist is talking about having him committed for his own safety. Is there anyway that I can ever forgive this 'woman' for what she has done and her complete lack of remorse for the damage that she has caused? I can't even explain the anger I have when I think of her driving by my home where the children and I are and calling my husband to let him know that she is doing it & willing to knock on the door & destroy his family. How can a person like this even live with themselves & how can the rest of us come to terms that there are people out there like this? If anyone has any advice, I just can't tell you what it would mean to me. I would like to destroy her happiness like she has done mine, my children & our family. Next, buy material to match the corset (any type you want, but chiffon is probably best). You can also buy sparkles, gemstones, or any type of decorations you want to add (if it's not already on your corset, you can glue it on). Then, i recommend sewing, but if you don't know how, you can glue (strong strong glue!!!) the material to the bought skirt anyway you like. Be creative. What's wrong with my corset?

I've been wearing corsets since I was 14. I've always gotten fitted for them and I never have had problems with them. It's almost become an obsession having a corset. This would have been even further enhanced as an effect post-WWII due to women having experienced even more freedom during work, for example in factories, which led to women wearing more suitable clothing that would have been previously associated with men in the work place (think of those pictures of the factory women in overalls). you might also want to think about how the rationing in the UK for example might have had an effect, corsets traditionally having been reinforced with either bone or steel which would of coirse have been in short supply.

Why would this make any real difference?

Whenever people complain about their mothers and they were a single parent other people always tell the kid to give their mother some slack? I understand that it is very hard to raise a child alone, but should that change the way the mother is to the child? My mother was an emotionless wreck. My dad left when I was 5. And I occasionally saw him for a few weekends here and there, but my mother raised me on her own and I got zero affection and zero sympathy and I grew up that way. And now I can't hug my mother because she didn't know how to when I was growing up. She effed me up because my dad left?? And why does she get slack just because she was a single mom? That means I deserved to be treated like sh*t and took everything from her? Every night when she was mad. I took it all in. When she was depressed. I had to hear her crying every night. She would scream at me whether it was my fault or not. I did all the chores and more.. And sometimes I felt like a slave, but why does she get a break? And when I turned 17 I got a job and had to give my mom $400 a month and lend her money and If it weren't for my bf's parents taking me in I would have never saved to be out on my own! I'm not saying my mother is a horrible person, but she shouldn't get to be absolved from treating my like a nothing because she was a single mother.
