How much is my liberty coin worth?

I have a 1994 1oz $50 gold liberty coin. I've looked it up a little but i cant seem to find an answer. The condition I'd say is almost perfect. Its been kept away in a protective case in a safe for years now. I was at one website and it said they sold these for about $1700. If i were to take it to a gold buying store how much should i expect them to offer for it? and what is the least ammount i should take?
